Radio tracking underway

Females have been trapped around Kyneton and are currently being radio tracked. The purpose of this project is to investigate the use of natural hollows by phascogales and if they have certain preferences to a particular design. This will help us understand the requirements of phascogales and better evaluate high quality habitat for this species. I am also doing some observations of phascogales and recording all behaviours.

The picture shows 'Lucy' with her radio collar. You can see the whip antenna which is surprisingly still intact after several weeks.
